I pray everyone is doing well. This is an quick update and a call for help.
One week ago this saturday, while coming back from celebrating Wendy's birthday we drove into a police check point. Unfortunetly for W and I, I was the one driving. Well, there is a law that came in effect that says if you are caught driving without a licence your car gets impounded for one month no exceptions.
Well, it scared us because California police can easily turn you into immigration for deportation. We are thankful that didn't happen, but we do have to pay around $1400 in fines to get the car and for driving without a license and the ball ends there with that.
After all of this happen we decided we shouldn't wait for congress to pass any guestworker program or any of that. A friend of Wendy and I that worked for INS encouraged us to wait for congress to
decide on the guestworker program. We felt like we couldn't do that any more so this past saturday we went to talk to an immigration lawyer.
He reviewd our case and told us he doesn't see a problem when it comes to me getting my greencard, workpermit and all the other stuff I need whithin 6 months, maybe even less. Here is the catch. His repesentation is going to cost us $2500 plus the fees for submitting the paperwork and a fine for being here illegaly.
Here is how the fees are broken down:
Lawyer fees: $2500
Penalty fee:$1000
Paperwork fee: $765
A friend of us already gave us the money for the paperwork, all we need to come up with is the $1000 for the penalty and $750 down payment for the lawyer. He told us he is willing to work with us and we can pay him the rest when I get my greencard.
We were not expecting
any of these expenses and we didn't not save for them. So, we are in a bind and want to seek out help from all of you. If you would like to help me out let me know, you can email me or call. It would be a blessing to W, I and our baby E.We also ask that you keep this in prayer.
Blessings,
S,W and Baby E
