Orale, whats happening? Well, as some of you may know. I'm going to college. And i've been trying to meet this Armenian guy who is in one of my classes. And be friends with him. The reason being because there is a lot of tensioin between Hispanics and Armenians in the city of Pasadena. So, yesterday i was on my way home from school and i see him waiting for the bus. So, i stopped and offer a ride. He accepted and ended up taking him all the way to Glendale. It was a bit out of my way but what the heck. I'm a good guy. So, i took him all the way there and got a chance to talk to him. He was telling me that the main religion in Armenia is Christianity and that he is a Christian. So, that was exciting. Well, that was cool that God provided that for me. I'll tell you more later.
Yesterday, was our youth fellowship of the month. The last Wednesday of every month we get together with all the Bible studies and we worship and have a speaker. I spoke yesterday. I was nervous at first but then later on the nervousness went away. I was happy that God spoke through me. At the end and later on i got a lot of feed back from people. Telling me how some of things that i said really got to them. It was good because they were able to express some of the feelings they had inside and ventilate. So, i'm thankful to God. Thank you Father.
Well, i still missed Carlos. He went back to school today. We were talking yesterday and crying. Real men cry. He was telling me that his whole family has to move out of the apt. And they don't know where they are going to go. So, if you are reading this please pray for them. His mom lost some work so they are short on cash. And she is just having a hard time.. Well, i have to go. one of my guys. An 11 year old got in trouble with the cops. So, i got a call from his mom she wants me to talk to the school to find out whats going on. Alright then, talk to you'll later.

What up Gente! Man! i had to get up early this morning to go meet with some leaders in Pasadena. It was a good meeting. I got to hear some thoughts on what some people are doing within the body of Christ. And what people are visioning for the up coming years. They has some amazing thoughts. But, even though i got up so early i'm doing well. A little sleepy. I just hope i don't fall asleep during my religious studies class later this afternoon. You know what? I had some of the homies from my hood over yesterday in the day. Big Boy and Bird. Appearently Bird got jacked up by some g wanna be(urban slang for: got beat up by another peer who thinks he is a tough guy). They were ready to throw down(U.S. for:fight) when this guy starts banging(hitting) Bird with a lock over the head. He got him over the head three times. Bird got so messed up he was throwing up two hours later. So, now Birds click from Parke street is looking for this guy to jump on him(U.S. for beat him up really bad). I pray they don't do anything crazy to him. Hey every last wednesday of the month we have all our Bible studies together for a youth service and i'm speaking today. Which is exciting. Nothing i haven't done before. But today is special. I'm gone talk about three things. Being Blessed,Chosen and Broken by God. I'm excited about it. I gotta get all my thoughts together. And review for my religious studies class. So, i have to go. talk to you'll later.
P.S. I found out today. That all the stands people use in yoga are actually from Hinduism and they are actually stands to worship the different gods in Hindu Religion. Isn't that something else. (comments:sergio@qvo.cc) Have a blessed day.

Good Morning Gente! Yesterday was the first day for Carlos suspension from school. He came over early in the morning to hang out, i live in the same barrio as where my ministry is. Quick access. I asked him about his homework and he is like i don't got any Sergio. To my benefit i'm in with the school he goes to. So, i called and they tell me he gots lots of homework. I had to get on him. He has not come around today. He knows i'm gone make him work. So, now i have to track him down. And get him to do his work. Or get with his brothers to get him doing his work.
I went up to the Harambee center yesterday. It was my friend Rob, Carlos and I. We had an awsome time playing soccer with everyone up there. Man this week is so loaded. I got so much things to do. Study for my college courses, prepare to speak at our monthly youth fellowship, prepare for this class i'm teaching on servant leadership for saturday, prepare for the wednesday bible study, and hang out with my deciples. Its a lot of work for one Urban Mexican youth worker. Somebody told me that when you get married your ministry gets easier. I hope man. I guess it depends if you marry the right girl. Right.
Well, i gotta run and meet this lady for lunch. Talk to you'll later.(sergio@qvo.cc)

Hola Everybody! Well, the last couple of days were Chido(cool). On Sat. night. Two of my friends came to visit from Compton. Andres and Alex. It was nice to see them. We went out to dinner at la fonda that's on Fair Oaks. It was good. I had a gordita and two asada tacos. The best Mexican spot in Pasadena. Orale. Check it out sometime. Later in the evening one of the older guys from our Bible study, Carlos, had a b-day party for Claudia his sister. It was awsome. The had carne asada sizzling on the grill, tortillas, beans, arroz, guacamole. It was off the hook(urban slang for: it was a well prepared party). The best part was when the Mariachi band comes. "Somos El Mariachi Michoacan" said the guy. That was their name. The sang for Claudia and we sang with them. It was a nice surprised from her mom. Later in the evening we were all sing along with the mariachi songs from Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Juan Gabriel and Cornelio Reyna. We made memories that night.
Sunday, i didn't get to attend my church. I was a little upset about that. But i got over it. I didn't think i was going to be able to attend a service but to my surprise. My friend Martha gets a hold of me. Martha is from Costa Rica. She just came back to the US and we hadn't seen each other for 9 months. We went to a Christian college together. Anyway, we talk and she invites me to concert. Supposely, the band "All together Separate" was giving the concert. But it was actually a church service. The had Pastor Raul Ries from Calary Chapel in Diamond Bar Ca. Harvest is the name of the church pastored by Greg Laurie(www.harvest.org). It was a very nice service with a good sermon. They also had Ginny Owens as a guest singer. This church was awsome. They were also airing the service on cable television. This church is of the hook check out their website.
I think i'm gone take my guys to one of their services. They are going to have the band "Bleach" as a guest worship band this coming Sunday.
I think i'm going to be there. Well, talk to ya'll later. (comments: sergio@qvo.cc)

Mi Gente! Here is what's up. Today one of the two young men i'm decipling comes to me. With tears in his eyes he tells me he got in a mess of trouble. So, i Proceed and ask what was up. He says one of his friends brought to school, a can of some computer duster. For dusting keyboards and things like that. So, the fellow that brought the can convinces my guy and another kid that the can contains helium. So, thinking that it would be fun to make some funny voices they proceed and inhale the air coming out of the can.
Well, as you might guess. They were as high as the sky. So, his teacher notices and sends him to the office. So, school authorities find this out and they investigate. So, they come with what went down. The school suspends my guy for three days, he gets sent to a six month program for drug abuse. And can no longer eat lunch with the rest of the kids. Instead he comes and sits during lunch with his school counselor. This is what is happening in the life of an urban youth worker. So, I thougt of what i should do. I'm suspeding him from coming to Bible study for two weeks and hanging out on monday nights. I have to be harsh some times but it's alright. If i don't put a stop to it now. It might go on to something bigger. (any comments : sergio@qvo.cc) I plan to spend a lot of time with him during his 3-day suspension time. Please pray for people like me. Its seems that satan is attacking us from every angle.

Today is a sunny day in south cal. It feels good. I'm preparing to teach good news this afternoon. I got a group of young guys and i'm teaching them the story of how God used Moises to deliver los Isrealitas. If you know what i mean. I want them to understand that God has a call in everyones life. And that He will help us with the tasks he gives us. I'm also preparing for my relgious studies class this afternoon. Its a good class. I'm learning a lot about Bible history. I found out there are actually 14 gospels instead of 4. I wonder how many Christians know this. Its all good. (comments:sergio@qvo.cc) Pray 1 Thessalonians 5:24. Pray that those kids i'm teaching will take this to heart.
